I dread the day when that part of me became a speck in the distance.

Another year, 2013
2013 crept upon me in a steady pace, I have been quietly watching the days go by ever since Christmas. But it wasn't until the last 4, 3, 2, 1!!!! was yelled that it really hit me in the face that 2012 is...no more. To me, the passing of 2012 was much more than a year gone by, the part of me that still clutched on to my identity as a college student became one step farther away, and it's marching at a steadfast pace away from me.

15 Songs that went on endless re-plays in my iPod
In no particular order, here goes the 15 songs. (I'm not including OST songs.)
1) Trolley Wood - Eisley
This was the song that made me discover Eisley. To tell the truth, I don't understand what the lyrics are talking about, but I love the melody and harmony of it. Somehow it also reminds me of the twins Adeline and Emmeline from the book The Thirteenth Tale.
"Out one day
Walking one day
Out one day, with you hallelujah"
Cheer Chen's songs are great, but this is the one score that I could really relate to. It tells of two friends who have drifted apart, and I know what that feels like. Everytime this I listen to this song, I recall our friendship, high school, and the distance that is now between us.
3) Love Story - Taylor Swift
Heh, I actually was the first among my friends to discover Taylor Swift before she came to Taiwan. This song also became the theme song of our freshman English play Juliet, though ironically our play was no love story.
"We were both young when I first saw you..."
4) Yell -
The lyrics of this song strikes a chord within me. They tell of dreams, hope, and being lost. Ever since getting into college, I've been constantly thinking of my future. What am I going to do after graduation? What do I want to do? I think back on childhood dreams, and find that I don't have dreams now anymore, which makes me sad...
I usually don't take much liking to conventional love songs, but I think this one is pretty decent. And it does make me sad.
6) Obvious - Hey Monday
This will always be Fang and Vanille's song in my heart, also my gateway song to Hey Monday.
"So surreal
As the story unfolds on the screen
Stop stalling
The credits are rolling
Hold me now
Before we run out of time"

2010 +1

Day 5 — Your dreams.
Dear,
I don't know what my dreams are anymore. I once thought I knew. I once thought I understood. But no, I don't.
When I was young, I was a little girl that loved to draw horses and dogs and small animals. So that little girl wanted to become a vet that could help animals. As I grow older, the sight of blood and having to cut open skin made me cringe. I failed at math. I do own a cat now though.
When I was a bit older, I was a teenager that loved to draw. I drew to express my feelings and sheets of blank paper were all filled with the immature scribblings of an immature teenager. That naive teenager proudly showed her drawings to her mother, who dismmissed the drawings with a scoff. "You're only wasting your time by drawing that kind of pictures, why don't you go learn water painting or something?" A few years after, most of the drawings are gone. Now there rarely are any drawings at all.
Now I am 20. I don't know what I want. I read books that make me cry. I read books to make me happy. I take pictures to capture the beautiful moments that I glimpse in life. I write down things that make sense to me. I wrote plays. I have all this, but I still don't know what direction to take. Where are my dreams?
I stare at my own shadow on a sunny day, I stare and stare. The sun is bright, I cover my eyes as I look up to the sky. Where are my dreams?
I don't know what my dreams are anymore. I once thought I knew. I once thought I understood. But no, I don't.

Coming to an end.
Well, my sophomore year is coming to an end. A lot has happened. Including some very high highs and some quite depressing lows. I've chosen a tight schedule for my junior year, maybe my college life-style will have a change, who knows? I really welcome a change, and I want to be more serious about my academic pursuits.
Starting from July 4th, I'll be gone from home for about a month, returning on August 6th. I hope this camp will change me, I really want some goddamn change! : )

anime related
Well, I should say that I am a fan of anime in general. The truth is that I haven't really watched that many anime series, but I am an avid reader of anime reviews/previews/thoughts/critics and I also enjoy anime music, especially original soundtracks. I love reading snarky as well as witty comments concerning anime, and I thoroughly enjoy the sarcasm and irony there-in that not everyone can understand or appreciate.
I guess the only crowd of friends that I can talk anime with is my high school friends and online friends. I'm not saying that we are anime fanatics or otakus; in fact, I think not all of us really identify ourselves that way. We are just able to include anime and manga into daily conversation. I have always wondered why anime/manga fans are viewed in a negative way in the society at large. Most people think of anime fans or otakus as a crowd of awkward and awkwardly dressed people. While there are many people who fit in that particular stereotypical view, the thing is that we're not all like that.

no time for serious posts
I am very busy, and it's going to stay this way until after 5/23. Then I can relax for a bit, but I am nearing the end of my sophomore years...
Bold ones that apply.
I am bored, so I add italic notes underneath ones I had something to say about.

T.G.I.Friday --- no more.
It's more like, WTF!? it's Friday.
Well, my mom's back home in addition to hurting, puking, and resting. After two f*cking tired days at the hospital, she was finally able to check out. She went through many examinations, including the gastroscope, and haven't eaten anything in the 2 days she was in the hospital. I understand that she prefers to be able to rest at home and the hospital creeps the hell outta me, but I really thought that she should've stayed for another day for observation. I mean, her condition isn't worsening, but she could've gotten more sleep with the pain-killers that can only be given in the hospital. Alas, my mom was very firm when she decided to go home away from the hospital-y environment.
Maybe it's because my mom is usually so good at taking care of herself, she has had the occasional cold or flu but that's it! I found the scene of her getting on the ambulance to be very shocking, and I was even more traumatized after my first appearance in the emergency room. (the so-called ER that I only ever saw on television) I'm already not very good at taking in bloody scenes or blood itself, and I find the hospital, especially the ER area, to be downright frightening. There are wails of despair everywhere, people are always rushing to and fro, beds are appearing in every corridor and corner, and not to mention the smell of medicine and blood and the sick.
